I just wanted to share with everyone our new favorite family water bottles. We have been hoping to get away from plastic, yet still have something convenient to use. After being surrounded with a multitude of dirty glasses at the end of the day from all of us at home, we finally each have our own bottle.
We also finally have installed a filtration system that allows us to safely and enjoyably drink the water at home, so we are DONE with lugging home bottled water -- YAY!! We use these bottles all day long and dishwash them at night. We do let everyone get an actual glass for dinner... :) Usually one of the girls fills all the bottles in the morning for everyone in the family. Ryan's fits in his briefcase.
Anyway, the bottles we have are from Klean Kanteen. They are food-grade stainless steel and dishwasher safe. (Stainless steel is non-leaching, even for acidic beverages.) We ordered the 18 oz. size -- in Black Eclipse (Daddy), Plain Stainless (Mommy), Pink Renewal (Audrey), Tree Bark (Elise), and Green Moss (Brett). We love 'em! We will probably be ordering one of the smaller ones with a sippy lid before too long...
Also, my friend Naomi (who told me about these bottles in the first place), mentioned that L.L.Bean offers the same bottles, just in different colors. It appears that they are made by Klean Kanteen with the L.L.Bean logo instead of their own logo (the lid still has the Klean Kanteen logo). The L.L. Bean variety comes in more metallic colors, and offers less expensive shipping. Plus it appears to come with a removable clip on the lid.
Hope this helps someone else!

cool, cool bottles.
I know I could get on LL Bean or Klean Kanteen to see prices, but why, when my good friend Charmaine would gladly comment back to me so graciously, and take all of the "footwork" out of this...u are such a peach.
I guess I should start saving now for my super duper drinking bottle. for now, I will continue to suck down my BPA's and LOVE it.
Love you,
LY
You are rotten... you know I can't resist looking it up and commenting back! L.L.Bean sells them for $16.95 (any color). Klean Kanteen sells the plain stainless for $16.45 and the colors for $18.45. Plus shipping of course!
You see why I had planned to save them for Christmas. But I caved when I realized how much simpler they'd make life NOW...
Love, C
Thank you!
We just saw these in the L.L. Bean catalog--and even picked out the colors we would each like to have.
We too have so many cups going all day long. I never thought about the fact that this would save on dishwashing--as well as being safe and cool!
I'm glad you posted about these. Does Klean Kanteen really have one that has a sippy lid?
:)Jodi
Yep -- if you click on the Klean Kanteen link in my post, you'll see the sippy option. They are 12 oz. bottles with a special adapter to fit the Avent sippy spout (included). They are $17.95 for stainless or $19.95 for a color. Then, later, you can buy an extra regular lid for $3 or $4 and just have it be a smaller bottle.
If you decide to go with the Bean bottles for your family and only want a sippy from Klean Kanteen, let me know, as I will be placing a Klean Kanteen order before Christmas. We could go in on shipping.
Have a good Sunday, C
Oh, and I forgot to say -- we put our lids in the dishwasher in one of those little plastic cages meant for baby bottle tops...
Hey, let me know when you'll be placing the Kleen Kanteen order...I'm in.
Naomi,
I'll let you know!
C
